Satellite navigation is becoming less dependable in exactly the places that matter most. EUROCONTROL estimates that up to 38 percent of European en-route air traffic now passes through regions regularly affected by radio-frequency interference. In July 2026 the European Union Aviation Safety Agency issued the fourth revision of its guidance on GNSS outages, describing the incidents as more severe, more sophisticated and more disruptive than before.
NavigationGate is the compute core that turns an OSCP inertial measurement unit into a full inertial navigation system. It fuses inertial data with dual-antenna, RTK-compatible GNSS and with the customer’s own aiding sensors, then outputs a continuous position, velocity and attitude solution over industrial buses including CAN 2.0B, CAN FD and RS422. The fusion runs locally on the board rather than on the host computer.
“Our customers do not have a sensor problem. They have a continuity problem,” said Kazem Zandi, founder and chief executive of OSCP. “They know exactly where they are while the satellites are there, and they lose that the moment they are not. NavigationGate closes the gap, and it closes it on the board, rather than handing the host computer a navigation filter it was never designed to run.”
NavigationGate integrates seamlessly with the company’s MK2 IMU family, offering tactical-grade with the photonic MK2E2, navigational-grade with the MK2Z.
OSCP’s published road test shows the problem the product is built for. Over a 21-minute drive with satellite positioning denied, navigating on the gyroscope alone with a one-hertz speed input and no filter, OSCP’s photonic IMU finished 5.7 metres from ground truth. A MEMS unit in the same vehicle, on identical aiding, finished 20.5 metres out. The only variable was the gyroscope.
NavigationGate measures 75.5 by 58.5 by 30 millimetres, runs on 12 to 34 volts and supplies power to the connected IMU. It carries an on-board barometer and removable microSD storage, and accepts aiding inputs including odometry, airspeed and external heading. Every port can be configured as a solution output, a configuration input or an aiding sensor input. A board-level OEM variant is available.
“Integrators kept asking us for the same thing,” said Thibaut Gravey, vice-president, product. “They had our IMU, they had a GNSS receiver, and they were being asked to write the fusion themselves. NavigationGate gives them a navigation solution instead of raw data, without taking away the ports and the access they need to tune it for their own platform.”
The first production batch is limited and allocation follows the order in which reservations are received. NavigationGate is designed and manufactured in Montreal and is ITAR-free.
